SEDCOR Golf Tournament a Whopping Success!
Last Friday the Strategic Economic Development Corporation (SEDCOR) held its annual golf tournament at Illahe Hills Country Club. Integrity First CPA’s (IFCPA) was privileged enough to be able to sponsor the 15th hole. It’s an awesome way to spend a Friday, let me tell you! We rate the event as a resounding success.
Traditionally, if you sponsor a hole, SEDCOR will put up a sign declaring your sponsorship. BUT….the sponsor can also conduct its own promotion at the hole for the entire day. For our part, IFCPA set up a tent on the 15th hole and passed out artisan roasted coffee which we have commissioned into our own unique blend called the “Tax Refund Blend”, roasted by Java Mama Coffee Roasters in Portland. Interestingly enough, some of the golfers who came by recognized the brand. Most got a chuckle out of our unique blend’s name.
We also obtained a keg from Gilgamesh Brewing of their widely coveted Mamba ale. It is no small boast to say that EVERYONE was delighted to see Gilgamesh on the 15th hole! Many came back for seconds (some thirds). If you don’t know it yet, Gilgamesh is one of the fastest growing, most popular Willamette Valley brewers right here in Turner, OR (we in Salem don’t recognize Turner as a separate entity from Salem, so to us, it’s brewed in a unique postal zone of Salem….). If you drink beer, and have not yet had a tall, cold glass from Gilgamesh, we encourage you to try one ASAP (but responsibly, of course).
Beer and breweries are one of the fastest growing industries in Oregon, even during the recession. I’m sure many will get a chuckle out of this, but this is more a reflection on Oregonians’ commitment to quality and excellence than anything—we don’t just want beer, we want the best beer! This is why IFCPA has positioned itself in the unique position as the WineCPA and BreweryCPA of the region especially, but also of the industry as a whole. Like those who want finely crafted beers instead of the pop-snap, chug of the national brands (hey, if you think I’m joking, give Keith Stone a call….) IFCPA pays special attention to each client with tailored agriculture accounting services, and we pride ourselves on every detail that each client presents. We take to heart the thoroughness, attention to detail, and the depth of knowledge in our field that benefits our clients and makes them better at what they do. It’s symbiotic—our clients sleep well at night knowing that we not only got it right, but we got the best result they could get…and we drink the best beers and wines in the industry! Who wouldn’t love this job?!?
We’re already looking forward to the 2012 SEDCOR golf tourney—it can’t come fast enough for us!
